Epic Games Store: Free Games – 10th June 2021
First of all, I haven’t played Control yet. It’s one of those games I got a while back (a Humble Bundle, I think) but I’ve been waiting for a good stretch of gaming time to actually sit down and play it. Probably on-stream too, which limits my opportunities even more.
It’s a 3rd person action game, along similar lines to Alan Wake and Quantum Break (from the same developer) where you need to manipulate objects using your telekinetic powers. I think. Like I said, I haven’t actually played it yet but I thought it looked super cool on launch. I don’t think it’ll run very well on my old GPU, but I’ll definitely need to give it a try to make sure.
It was critically acclaimed when it came out in 2019 and was a great showcase for the still-fairly-new raytracing tech on Nvidia graphics cards. I’ve read that it’s technically set in the Alan Wake extended universe, which I find fascinating. So I’m sure I’ll play it one day, I just don’t know when.
