Epic Games Store - What's Free Now?

Abzu & Rising Storm 2: Vietnam are free on the Epic Games Store from 8th October 2020! Before you pick them up, here’s what I think about them.

Here are the games currently free of charge on the Epic Games Store. These are typically only around for a week, so if you see anything you like the look of you’d better move fast before they disappear!

Epic Games Store: Free Games – 8th October 2020

Abzu

Abzu is an underwater exploration game from the art director of Journey and Flower. It has a stunning art style (as you’d expect) and although I haven’t played it, it got great reviews across the board when it came out. That said, it also came out 4 years ago. Epic previously gave Abzu away in the middle of 2019, so it’s hard to push it like you’re missing out. Because unless you’re new to the EGS environment you probably already have it. But if you just want to chill then it’s still worth diving into.

Get it? Diving! I’ll get my coat.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is a 64-player tactical shooter set during the Vietnam war, with locations based on real world battle locations. It has multiple classes and factions to choose from and actually reminds me a lot of Battlefield 2. There’s no single player modes though – it’s all online PvP – so if you want to actually play it you’ll need to rely on finding other people who do too! Unless you’ve got 63 friends available.

And if you can get 64 people online at the same time, please tell me how. I can’t even get four in one place.
