Epic Games Store - What's Free Now?

Epic Games Store is currently giving away a couple of games for free every Thursday. Here’s what I think of the games on offer from 23rd July 2020!

Here are the games currently free of charge on the Epic Games Store. These are typically only around for a week, so if you see anything you like the look of you’d better move fast before they disappear!

Next Up Hero

Next Up Hero is a weird one. It’s part top-down action RPG, part asynchronous MMO. You start off playing a level by yourself. When you die (and you die a lot), you leave behind a ghost that will assist other players in the game. So actually you rarely play “alone” even in single-player mode, because you’ll have these ghosts with you. Since I last played they’ve added custom levels and missions, as well as harder difficulty modes. So it might be worth another look now.

Tacoma is a sci-fi walking simulator. I don’t use that term as an insult, so please don’t let it turn you off. It’s set on board a space station where you need to find out what happened to the crew. It’s from the creators of Gone Home, who are well regarded in the genre, and the art style is really cool.
