Epic Games Store - What's Free Now?

Epic Games Store is currently giving away a couple of games for free every week. Here’s what games are on offer right now (4th June 2020)!

Here are the games currently free of charge on the Epic Games Store. These are typically only around for a week or two, so if you see anything you like the look of you’d better move fast before they disappear!

Epic Games Store: Free Games – 4th June 2020

Overcooked is a fun couch 1-4 player co-op game about serving food to customers in weird locations. I haven’t played much of it, but with the right (or wrong!) team it can be a lot of fun. And if one of you is a bit of a perfectionist then someone is going to be really disappointed!

The big downside of Overcooked on EGS versus Steam is that the multiplayer is local only on the Epic version. Steam’s Remote Play Together means you could play with friends online, but that won’t be the case here. So if you’ve got friends round (and thanks to COVID-19 you really shouldn’t!) this is a winner.

The only other complaint I have about this is that Overcooked has already been free on EGS – around this time last year. I’m starting to worry that they’re running out of games that are viable to offer. Obviously they’re not going to give away the latest blockbuster, but repeating the offer of a 4 year old game seems a little off. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re holding some god stuff back to compete with Steam’s summer sale, which should be starting any time now.
