You can find out if this indie horror game is worth picking up right here! This year for Christmas, Epic is doing 15 days of free games, with each title only being available for 24 hours. Here’s today’s offering as well as what I think about it!

Epic Games Store: 15 Days of Free Games – 24th December 2020

If you feel like a bit of horror and dread this Christmas (and the movies Gremlins & Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas suggest that you are) then Inside is definitely worth checking out. It’s not exactly a sequel to Limbo, but it’s definitely a successor in a similar style. They switched from their old custom engine to Unity and bumped up the dimensions from the flat 2D look up to a new 2.5D – and it does bring a whole new way for things to interact with you.

And the aesthetic is super cool. It’s very dark, with almost no colour except your character and some threats. Light is a big feature. The only word I can think of for it is ‘oppressive’. Everything feels like it’s bearing down on you. And I think that’s the whole point. You’re a child in a scary dysoptian world. Everything is bigger than you. Anything could kill you. Even as a man who keeps saying how much he doesn’t do stealth, this one is definitely for me.
