Epic Games Store - 15 Days of Free Games 2020

Today’s free game in the 15 Days of Free Games is Tropico 5. You can find out if it’s worth becoming a banana republic dictator right here!
This year for Christmas, Epic is doing 15 days of free games, with each title only being available for 24 hours from 4pm (UK time). Here’s today’s offering as well as what I think about it!

Epic Games Store: 15 Days of Free Games – 23rd December 2020

Tropico 5

Although I can’t help but be a little disappointed we’re getting Tropico 5 rather than 6, it’s hard to complain too much. The Tropico games are really fun RTS games where you play a dictator on a tropical island. You need to balance the books to pay for stuff and although you definitely don’t need to be corrupt, it’ll certainly make your life easier.

Tropico 5 covers a wide timescale, meaning you’ll face different challenges as you progress and have different ways to overcome them. There’s some really camp-y fun characters and some of the storyline is just about ridiculous enough to be true! I found the tutorial a little too hand-hold-y, but once you get into the proper game you get a lot more freedom to do what you want.

I don’t think it’s available on the Epic Games Store yet, so this free version will coincide with the soft launch.
